Who am I ?
My name is Cátia Sever and I'm the creator of PORTUGUÊS CATITA.
I was born and raised in Portugal, near Lisbon.

I started studying modern languages and literature in 1999. Teaching Portuguese as a second language has become my passion since I moved to Paris in 2007. Since then, I've been teaching students from all over the world, helping them communicate in Portuguese.
​
I worked as a litterature and language teacher in French University from 2008 to 2016 but I’ve always been passionate about foreing cultures. I speak Portuguese, English, French, and some Spanish. Actually, speaking other languages and think about the differences gives me the best tools and inspiration to create my courses.

I finished my PhD in Modern Literature at the University of Lisbon in 2020, and since then, I created the “Português Catita” school to help you learn authentic European Portuguese.
